AEP Keyper HSM

Overview

AEP Keyper offers the next generation security platform for managing cryptographic keys and protecting sensitive applications. It is a hardware security module (HSM) designed for managing mission critical applications that demand maximum security. It is ideally suited for companies that need secure key management for certification authorities, registration authorities, OCSP responders, smart card issuers, web servers and other applications.

Keyper allows the FIPS-certified Security Officer and authorized user to generate, store and use high quality keys within a tamper reactive, Ethernet-connected HSM.

AEP Keyper is the most comprehensive cryptographic HSM of its class for secure key management offering public key infrastructure (PKI) administrators the highest levels of assurance and performance. AEP Networks' revolutionary ACCE technology, at the heart of AEP Keyper, guarantees the safety and integrity of critical key material.

AEP Keyper is a state of the art device. It offers hardware key generation, storage, usage and management of key material, which is contained in a FIPS 140-2, Level 4 certified crypto module – ACCE (Advanced Configurable Cryptographic Environment).

Each Keyper provides load balanced, fail safe, network accessible, FIPS 140-2 level 4 certified cryptographic services (e.g. hardware random seed based key generation, signing, encryption) within an automatic tamper reactive boundary.

AEP Keyper is aimed at high security, high availability applications, enhancing PKI security in any PKCS#11 or Microsoft Crypto API compliant environment.

The Keyper product range has been in use in UK, Australia, US, European Government and other international projects since 2000. These projects include national root authorities, Defense validation authorities (OCSP), revenue and taxation systems, code signing systems, telecoms systems and space systems.

Keyper is available in two models:

Keyper Enterprise
This is a FIPS 140-2 Level 4 certified Hardware Security Module that provides certified, secure cryptographic and key management and storage services within a tamper reactive boundary for security applications. The Keyper Enterprise 1024 bit RSA signing performance has been independently measured to be in excess of 1,200 transactions per second (tps).

Keyper Professional
Keyper Professional is a Keyper Enterprise with 1024 bit signing performance in excess of 300 tps.
